The Raunatin tablet, coated with a special coating, contains 2 mg. active compound of rauwolfia alkaloid , as well as auxiliary compounds: cerulesum, sugar, calcium stearate, cross-povidone, glucose, stearic acid, basic magnesium carbonate, gelatin, aerosil, medium molecular weight polyvinylpyrrolidone , talc, pigment titanium dioxide, beeswax, dyes E 104 and KF-6001.

Basic physical and chemical properties
Film-coated tablets are light green in color, with a biconvex surface. Marbling and inclusions are allowed on the surface of the tablets. The cross section shows three layers.

Indications
Mild to moderate arterial hypertension.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to rauwolfia alkaloids; arterial hypotension, heart failure, organic heart damage, bradycardia, aortic defects, severe cerebral atherosclerosis, depression, epilepsy, parkinsonism, gastric and duodenal ulcers in the acute stage, ulcerative colitis, nephrosclerosis, bronchial asthma, pheochromocytoma, electroconvulsive therapy (drug should be discontinued at least 7 days before electroconvulsive therapy), pregnancy, breastfeeding, age under 18 years. The presence of rare congenital fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrose isomaltase deficiency.
Directions for use and doses
Raunatin-Zdorovye is prescribed to adults orally after meals. On the 1st day, the initial dose is usually 1 tablet at night, on the 2nd day - 1 tablet once a day, on the 3rd day - 1 tablet 3 times a day, then bring the total dose to 4-6 tablets per day. After achieving a stable therapeutic effect (usually after 10-14 days), the dose of the drug is gradually reduced to 1-2 tablets per day. The course of treatment is 3-4 weeks, but in some cases, according to indications, Raunatin-Zdorovye is taken long-term in a maintenance dose (1 tablet per day).
Adverse reactions
Raunatin-Zdorovye is usually well tolerated. Sometimes possible: from the cardiovascular system: edema, flushing of the face, bradycardia; in patients with angina, increased pain in the heart area is possible; with prolonged use, an increase in the frequency of angina attacks is possible. From the central nervous system: headache, drowsiness, sweating, depression, general weakness; with prolonged use - the appearance of nightmares, the development of symptoms of parkinsonism. From the organ of vision: miosis. From the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, increased or decreased appetite, drooling, dry mouth, increased secretion of gastric juice. From the hepatobiliary system: with long-term use in high doses, liver function may be impaired. From the genitourinary system: dysuria, impotence. From the endocrine system and metabolism: decreased libido, sodium retention, increased secretion of prolactin, galactorrhea, gynecomastia, engorgement of the mammary glands, weight gain. Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, dry mucous membranes, swelling of the nasal mucosa. From the hematopoietic system: thrombocytopenic purpura. Side effects disappear when the dose is reduced or after a short-term (1-3 days) break in taking the drug. The patient should be informed that if the above or other adverse reactions not listed in this instruction occur, they should consult a doctor.
Overdose
Symptoms: sweating, general weakness and severe hypotension. In severe cases, after a short period of euphoria, drowsiness, physical inactivity, severe depression (which can lead to suicide), severe parkinsonism, loss of consciousness, coma, convulsions, respiratory depression, and hypothermia develop. Treatment: gastric lavage, taking activated charcoal. Forced diuresis is indicated. If there is a pronounced decrease in blood pressure or collapse, place the patient with his legs elevated; if necessary, intravenous administration of rheopolyglucin or mesaton with the addition of angiotensinamide or a 2% solution of norepinephrine hydrogen tartrate is indicated. Adrenergic agonists are prescribed with great caution due to the risk of developing pulmonary edema. A 10% sodium caffeine benzoate solution is injected subcutaneously. The presence of severe respiratory depression or its delay requires suction of mucus from the respiratory tract, intubation and artificial ventilation, oxygen therapy. There are no specific antidotes for poisoning with Raunatin-Zdorovye and other rauwolfia preparations.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
The use of Raunatin-Zdorovye during pregnancy or breastfeeding is contraindicated, since the alkaloid reserpine passes through the placenta and into breast milk. If it is necessary to use the drug during breastfeeding, breastfeeding should be stopped.
Children
There are no data on the use of the drug in children.
Precautionary measures
Treatment with the drug should be carried out under the supervision of a physician. Patients with angina may experience increased pain in the heart area. Before planned surgical interventions, taking Raunatin-Zdorovye should be stopped several days before surgery. In case of emergency surgery under general anesthesia, patients taking the drug require premedication with atropine. Raunatin-Zdorovye should not be used before an electropulse therapy session. Since rauwolfia alkaloids increase motility and secretion in the digestive tract, caution should be exercised when prescribing the drug to patients with a history of peptic ulcer disease. Caution should also be exercised when prescribing the drug to weakened and elderly patients, in the presence of renal failure, cholelithiasis, arrhythmia, and to patients who have recently suffered a myocardial infarction. As part of the excipients, Raunatin-Zdorovye contains carbohydrates: 1 tablet contains 140 mg, which corresponds to 0.014 bread units (XE). Interaction with other drugs and other types of interactions
When used simultaneously with MAO inhibitors, agitation and hypertension may develop. The antihypertensive effect of Raunatin-Zdorovye is enhanced when used with other antihypertensive drugs (thiazide diuretics, β-blockers, ACE inhibitors, calcium ion antagonists, etc.). Strengthens the inhibitory effect on the central nervous system of alcohol, barbiturates, and antidepressants. Digitalis or quinidine preparations, when used simultaneously with Raunatin-Zdorovye, can cause arrhythmia. Reduces the effectiveness of antiparkinsonian drugs and sympathomimetics.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics. Raunatin-Zdorovye contains a sum of alkaloids from the roots of Rauwolfia serpentina or the bark of the roots of Rauwolfia emetic of the Kutrov family. Alkaloids are represented by reserpine, serpentine, ajmaline, etc. The total content of alkaloids is at least 90%. Raunatin-Zdorovye has a hypotensive effect due to a decrease in the content of biogenic monoamines (norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin) in the central nervous system (cortico-hypothalamic structures, especially the posterior part of the hypothalamus). By disrupting the processes of mediator deposition in the vesicles of the presynaptic membrane of peripheral adrenergic nerve endings, the vascular wall, and the medulla of the adrenal glands, the drug blocks adrenergic transmission, which leads to a gradual decrease in blood pressure. The hypotensive effect of the drug develops more gradually, unlike reserpine, but is not significantly inferior in severity to reserpine. A feature of the drug is the enhancement of glomerular filtration in the kidneys, which leads to an increase in renal blood circulation. Raunatin-Zdorovye also has an antiarrhythmic effect and a calming effect on the central nervous system. The sedative effect is less pronounced compared to reserpine. The therapeutic effect develops gradually by 10-14 days after starting the drug and lasts for 2-3 months. In some cases, Raunatin-Zdorovye is better tolerated than reserpine. Pharmacokinetics. The alkaloids of the drug are well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract; the maximum concentration in the blood is observed 1-3 hours after administration. Binding to blood proteins is 40-50%. Half-life - 50-170 hours; metabolized in the intestines and liver, excreted mainly in feces and urine.

Side effects
