Panthenol-Teva ointment for external use 5% 35g

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics.
dexpanthenol is a precursor of pantothenic acid and has the same biological effect as pantothenic acid. Pantothenic acid and its derivatives are water-soluble vitamins that are an integral part of coenzyme a, which, in the form of coenzyme acetyl-coa, is involved in cellular metabolism. Pantothenic acid is necessary for the formation and regeneration of the skin and mucous membranes. When applied externally, dexpanthenol/panthenol accelerates the processes of epithelization and scarring of damaged skin and mucous membranes. Pantothenic acid and its derivatives are non-toxic. There is no information about the mutagenic, teratogenic or carcinogenic effects of the drug.

Pharmacokinetics. Dexpanthenol penetrates well into the cells of the skin and mucous membrane, where it is transformed into pantothenic acid. Pantothenic acid that enters the systemic circulation accumulates in the tissues of the body, is not metabolized and is excreted unchanged (60–70% in urine, the rest in feces).

PANTHENOL-TEVA (ointment)

ripped.
I think the most significant difference between these two drugs is the speed of effect. Here the ointment relieves pain exactly at the moment it is absorbed. By the way, this happens quite quickly, because the texture of the ointment can safely be called slightly watery, but there are also enough oils in it, so the white substance is absorbed first, and only after that, the fat from the oil gradually begins to penetrate the skin, increasing and enhancing the analgesic effect . By the way, the ointment looks like this: What can you say based on the result? Let me explain: children instantly calm down (however, preliminary persuasion is still accompanied by howling and screaming), and adults, after five minutes of patience, simply forget about the characteristic pulsation. After the kettle caressed my hand with boiling water, and the employees smeared it with “panthenol,” the following happened:

1. After five minutes the burning stopped. Usually the burned area is unbearably hot, which is what happened to me. But I didn’t put my hand under the stream of cold water, and besides, experienced colleagues acted clearly and harmoniously. At first it seemed to me that the effect of the product was enhanced by vegetable oil, so relief came after about two minutes. More precisely, the pain and pulsations weakened during this time. But the real pain-relieving effect came in about five minutes.

I just didn't think it was that fast. Soon, I already had to buy this product at the pharmacy for my brother. He works for me as a welder, so burns are his thing. So my brother noted the same speed of impact.

2. As you understand, the burn site immediately turns red. About twenty minutes after applying the ointment, the red spot turned pink, and the area of redness decreased slightly.

3. This all happened in the morning of a working day. I work 12 hours a day. So during the day I applied the ointment to my hand several times (I still have to fill out documents, but the burn was on my right hand). My blisters never came up, but in the morning the skin in this place seemed to have closed its eyes for a short time. By the evening of the same day, it began to itch, and my mother taught me that it was healing, and, as always, she was right.

On the back of the package there is information about the active and excipients.

In addition, I can note the healing effect. My little one is a very smart child. Somewhere, but will stick its tentacles. For the last time, she decided to shave her chin like her grandfather and stabbed herself in the beard with a blade. The cut is microscopic, but you understand, for a child it means “ouch,” “oh,” and “mom, it hurts.” And my child, if anything, aims to become a doctor (at four!), so she knows that any damage must be treated. I only had this drug on hand and I smeared it on my beard, especially since I read in the instructions that the drug promotes the healing of micro-cuts. In the morning, only a small mark remained on our beard, reminiscent of the “fighting” in the bathroom.

Of course, I decided to use this product for cosmetic purposes! Yes, comrades, I probably would never have come up with a better idea. Many will understand me (I hope) if I say that squeezing pimples has a calming effect on me. Well, the consequences of such actions are, accordingly, annoying. So, immediately after the “calming procedure”, I smear the places that my hands especially “like”, and the next morning, as if nothing had happened, I forget about the fact that I calmed down yesterday. By the way, from now on, much less foundation is used.

Now I'm also targeting my heels, because the manufacturer claims that the ointment can be a preventative for dry and cracked skin. I haven’t tried it yet, but I really want to try it. In the near future I will definitely write about these possibilities of the ointment.

I think the only caution worth paying attention to is the fact that panthenol should not be applied to wet wounds. The rest of the contraindications are only individual non-sensitivity of the components. In my opinion, it is also important that the ointment can be used on infants.

The cost of this drug is 286 rubles, but it will last for a very, very long time, because the consumption is literally meager. For example, I probably didn’t spend half a gram on my daughter’s cut, but there are 35 of them in the tube!

I also think this feature is important - the shelf life here is a whole year after hiding the packaging! Agree, it’s a rare ointment composition that can boast of this!

The advantages include an unobtrusive smell. There are ointments that are based on aggressive aromas, but this one, let’s say, is quite gentle. That is, there is a medicinal smell, but you can easily put up with it for a few minutes until it disappears.

And yes, those who have children should not place the ointment in an accessible place. Mine, for example, developed a whole plan to capture the ointment (this is several chairs stacked on top of each other while I was in the kitchen). She explained the action simply - Well, I need to train on dolls to become a good doctor!

In short, as for me, the ointment is good in absolutely everything! Therefore, I will wholeheartedly recommend its use in any household matters!
