Description

Red, round, biconvex, film-coated tablets. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Multivitamin-mineral complex.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics

Multivitamin/multimineral preparations are prescribed to prevent micronutrient deficiencies. The pharmacological properties of the drug are determined by its constituent components. Vitamin A is involved in the synthesis of various substances (proteins, lipids, mucopolysaccharides) and ensures the normal function of the skin, mucous membranes, and the organ of vision. Vitamin D regulates the exchange of calcium and phosphorus, participates in the formation of mineralization and regeneration of bone tissue. B vitamins are involved in the formation of various enzymes that regulate different types of metabolism in the body. Vitamin B1 is involved in normalizing the activity of the heart, contributing to the normal functioning of the nervous system. Vitamin B2 promotes tissue regeneration processes, including skin cells. Vitamin B3 plays an important role in maintaining the balance of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin B6 helps maintain the structure and function of bones, teeth, gums, affects erythropoiesis, and promotes the normal functioning of the nervous system. Calcium pantothenate is involved in the metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. Folic acid takes part in the metabolism of amino acids and the synthesis of purine and pyrimidine bases. Folic acid deficiency leads to decreased DNA biosynthesis and impaired cellular replication. Vitamin B12 is involved in erythropoiesis and contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system. Vitamin C is involved in the oxidation of a number of biologically active substances, regulation of metabolism in connective tissue, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting and tissue regeneration, stimulates the formation of steroid hormones, and normalizes capillary permeability. Vitamin C is involved in increasing the body's resistance to infections by reducing inflammatory reactions. Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant. It prevents increased blood clotting and has a beneficial effect on peripheral circulation. Participates in the synthesis of proteins and hemoglobin, in the process of cell growth, the function of skeletal muscles, heart and blood vessels, gonads. Calcium is involved in the formation of bone tissue, blood clotting, transmission of nerve impulses, contraction of skeletal and smooth muscles, and normal heart function. It also promotes iron absorption. Iron is part of the hemoglobin molecule, participates in the transport of oxygen in the body and prevents the development of anemia. Manganese takes part in the processes of bone mineralization. Magnesium is involved in the formation of muscle and bone tissue, and also takes part in protein synthesis. Copper is necessary for normal red blood cell function and iron metabolism. Zinc is necessary for the normal formation of the fetal skeleton and tissue regeneration, is part of some hormones, including insulin, and reduces the likelihood of a number of intrauterine anomalies.

Indications for use

Treatment of hypo- and avitaminosis caused by insufficient intake or increased need for vitamins. Dosage and method of administration The drug can be taken after consulting a doctor. Take the drug orally during meals with plenty of water. Adults are prescribed 1 tablet 1 time per day. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor.

Contraindications

increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug; children under 18 years of age; pregnancy; vitamin A hypervitaminosis; concomitant treatment with vitamin A or synthetic isomers, isotretinoin and etretinate (beta-carotene is considered as a source of additional vitamin A); renal dysfunction; vitamin D hypervitaminosis; - hypercalciuria; disorders of iron and/or copper metabolism; malignant diseases. Special instructions and precautions Taking vitamins does not replace a balanced diet. The medicine is not intended for prophylactic use. Do not exceed the indicated dosage. High doses of some components, especially vitamin A and vitamin D, can be hazardous to health. Maxamine Forte should be used with extreme caution in patients with severe and acute forms of decompensated heart failure and angina. Prescribed with caution for liver damage, a history of peptic ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, cholelithiasis, chronic pancreatitis, diabetes mellitus. Possible staining of urine yellow, which is an absolutely harmless factor and is explained by the presence of riboflavin in the drug. Vitamin C may interfere with test results for urine glucose, uric acid, and serum creatinine. Increased doses of folic acid, vitamin B12 and iron may mask some forms of anemia. The drug contains sucrose, which should be taken into account in patients with rare congenital fructose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency. Interaction with other drugs While taking the drug, you should refrain from drinking alcohol, since alcohol reduces the absorption of some vitamins. Vitamins A and E mutually enhance the effect and are synergists. Retinol reduces the anti-inflammatory effect of glucocorticoids. Nitrites and cholestyramine interfere with the absorption of retinol. Due to the possibility of developing hypervitaminosis A, it is not recommended to use the drug together with other drugs containing vitamin A. Vitamin A is not prescribed simultaneously with retinoids; their combination is toxic. Vitamin C increases the absorption of iron, increases the toxicity of sulfonamides (the possibility of crystallurgy), penicillins, and reduces the effectiveness of heparin and indirect coagulants. The absorption of vitamin C decreases when used simultaneously with oral contraceptives. Vitamin C may cause a pseudo-negative urine glucose test result. Vitamin B2 is incompatible with streptomycin and reduces the effectiveness of antibacterial drugs (oxytetracycline, doxycycline, erythromycin, tetracycline and lincomycin). Therefore, it should be taken at least 3 hours before taking the antibiotic. Tricyclic antidepressants, imipramine and amitriptidine, inhibit the metabolism of riboflavin, especially in cardiac tissue. Vitamin B6 affects the metabolism of certain medications. Vitamin B6 weakens the effect of levodopa, prevents or reduces the toxic effects that are observed with the use of isoniazid and other anti-tuberculosis drugs. The amount of vitamin B6 is reduced when taken simultaneously with oral contraceptives. Colchicine, cimetidine, calcium supplements, ethyl alcohol, neomycin, para-aminosalicylic acid, biguanides, cholestyramine, potassium chloride and methyldopa reduce the absorption of vitamin B12. Serum concentrations of cyanocobalamin may be reduced by oral contraceptives. Folic acid may reduce plasma concentrations of anticonvulsants. Therefore, patients receiving antiepileptic therapy may require dosage adjustments and careful medical supervision if taking folic acid. The antibacterial agents chloramphenicol and cotrimoxazole may interfere with the metabolism of folic acid. Medicines containing folic acid or its derivatives may reduce the effectiveness of methotrexate. Pregnancy and lactation Use during pregnancy is contraindicated and not recommended during breastfeeding. The doses of some vitamins in the drug exceed the average daily requirement for pregnant or nursing mothers. Vitamin A in doses greater than 10,000 IU per day causes birth defects when taken during pregnancy. It must be taken into account that the vitamins and minerals taken are excreted in mother's milk, especially if the child receives other vitamin and mineral complexes. The risk of exposure to the nursing infant cannot be excluded and this must be taken into account if the infant is receiving any other dietary supplements. Taking high doses of vitamin B6 may inhibit milk production. Impact on the ability to drive vehicles Maxami Forte does not affect the ability to drive vehicles.

Side effect

The drug is well tolerated, but in rare cases, gastrointestinal disorders are possible: abdominal discomfort, constipation, flatulence, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea. In some cases, allergic reactions are possible: urticaria, facial swelling, shortness of breath, erythema, skin rash, blistering rash, anaphylactic shock. Yellow coloration of urine is possible (associated with the presence of vitamin B2 in the drug and has no clinical significance). The drug contains iron, which can cause black stools. This effect is harmless and has no clinical significance. Vitamin C can cause hemolytic anemia in cases of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. In rare cases, hypercalciuria, headache, dizziness, insomnia, and increased excitability are possible.
