Product description
Name
NEOVITAM
Compound
Vitamin B1 (thiamine hydrochloride) 100 mg Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride) 200 mg Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) 0.2 mg
Pharmacological properties
Neovitam is a combination preparation of B vitamins. Thiamine (vitamin B1) in the human body, due to phosphorylation processes, is converted into cocarboxylase, which is a coenzyme of many enzymatic reactions. Thiamine plays an important role in the reactions of carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism. Actively participates in the processes of nerve excitation in synapses. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is necessary for the normal functioning of the central and peripheral nervous system. In its phosphorylated form, it is a coenzyme in the metabolism of amino acids (decarboxylation, transamination). Acts as a coenzyme of the most important enzymes that act in nerve tissues. Takes part in the biosynthesis of neurotransmitters: dopamine, norepinephrine, adrenaline, serotonin, histamine and GABA. Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) is necessary for normal hematopoiesis and maturation of red blood cells, and also takes part in a number of biochemical reactions that ensure the vital functions of the body - in the transfer of methyl groups, in the synthesis of nucleic acids, proteins, in the metabolism of amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids. Affects processes in the nervous system (synthesis of RNA, DNA, myelin and the lipid composition of cerebrosides and phospholipids). The coenzyme forms of cyanocobalamin—methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin—are essential for cell replication and growth. The pharmacokinetics of the drug was not studied
Indications
as part of complex therapy of neurological diseases: polyneuropathy of various etiologies (including diabetic, alcoholic); acute and chronic neuritis and neuralgia; sciatica and lumbago; radicular syndrome caused by degenerative lesions of the spine; plexites; intercostal neuralgia; facial nerve paresis; trigeminal neuralgia.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. It is not recommended to prescribe the drug to children under the age of 12 years, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, due to the lack of reliable clinical data confirming the safety of its use in these categories of patients.
Application
The drug is taken 1 tablet 1-2 times a day. The tablets should be taken after meals, without chewing, with a small amount of liquid. The duration of treatment and dose of the drug are determined individually.
Overdose
There are no reports of drug overdose, but adverse reactions may occur. Treatment is symptomatic.
Interaction
with simultaneous use of the drug with levodopa, a decrease in the antiparkinsonian effectiveness of levodopa is noted. When used simultaneously with ethanol, the absorption of thiamine, which is part of Neovitam, is reduced. Long-term treatment with anticonvulsants (phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine) while using Neovitam can lead to thiamine deficiency. When used simultaneously with colchicine or biguanides, a decrease in the absorption of cyanocobalamin is noted. The use of the drug with isoniazid, penicillin or oral contraceptives leads to a decrease in the effectiveness of vitamin B6.
Side effects
the drug is well tolerated in recommended doses, but in some cases the following reactions are possible: nausea, tachycardia, skin reactions in the form of itching and urticaria, shock.
Children, pregnant women, drivers
It is not recommended to use Neovitam in high doses for more than 4 weeks. During drug therapy, you should refrain from concomitantly taking multivitamin complexes containing B vitamins due to the risk of their overdose. The use of vitamin B12 supplements in patients with psoriasis may worsen the course of the disease. Use during pregnancy and lactation. Due to the lack of clinical data on the use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation, the drug is not recommended for use during this period. Children. The safety and effectiveness of the drug in children have not been established, so the drug is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age. The ability to influence reaction speed when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms. There is no data regarding the effect of the drug on the reaction rate when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms.
Storage conditions
in original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
