To prevent re-infection, it is recommended to repeat the drug after 3 weeks.

Hookworms:

In endemic areas, in case of infection with Necator americanus or in case of severe infection with Ankylostoma duodenale, the dosage is 25 mg/kg/day (in one or two doses) for two to three days, that is:

• children:
  250 mg per 10 kg body weight daily
• adults weighing less than 75 kg:
  1.5 g per day
• adults weighing more than 75 kg:
  2 g per day.

In case of infection with Ankylostoma duodenale outside endemic zones (it occurs more easily), a dose of 12.5 mg/kg is prescribed at a time.
