Trimedat or Duspatalin - which is better for pancreatitis

The original antispasmodic drug Duspatalin is based on mebeverine. Available in tablets and capsules of various dosages. The medicine eliminates spasms and intestinal colic, normalizes intestinal motility, and does not cause hypotension of the gastrointestinal tract muscles.

The analogue is used:

  • for pain in the intestines;
  • with diarrhea;
  • with a feeling of bloating and flatulence;
  • when the consistency and frequency of stool changes - constipation, diarrhea or alternation;
  • other symptoms of gastrointestinal motility disorders.

Generic drugs Duspatalin have the same composition and indications:

  • Mebeverin (Russia);
  • Sparex (Russia);
  • Nyaspam (India).

Trimedat forte, the regular formula and Duspatalin have positive reviews. The first remedy is used to regulate gastrointestinal motility, eliminate constipation or diarrhea. The second medication is prescribed to reduce intestinal colic and spasms. For pancreatitis, both medications are used as part of complex therapy. Which is better depends on the course of the disease in a particular patient.

How long to take Trimedat

The course of therapy depends on the symptoms and diagnosis. For episodic, sudden and short-term pain, it is enough to take the drug for 24 hours to get rid of the symptoms. This situation is typical for non-toxic food poisoning, when the unpleasant symptoms cease with the cleansing of the intestines. In this case, Trimedat will relieve spasms and normalize sudden contractions of the intestines, leading to pain.

If irritable bowel syndrome is diagnosed, two-week therapy is prescribed. After the disappearance of unpleasant symptoms, therapy is not stopped. To maintain the positive effect, in order to exclude relapse, Trimedat continues to be taken for another 3 months.

Trimedat or No-Shpa - which is better?

No-Shpa and the Russian analogue Drotaverin are classified as antispasmodics. The drugs relieve spasms, intestinal and biliary colic. Available in tablets and injections.

An analogue cheaper than Trimedat based on drotaverine is less effective because it has an exclusively antispasmodic effect. Trimedat itself has a number of properties. In addition to relieving colic, the drug normalizes intestinal activity and eliminates gastrointestinal motility disorders. Used to treat constipation or diarrhea, poor digestion, nausea and vomiting.

Trimedat or Ganaton for reflux esophagitis

The original drug Ganaton and the generic Itomed are gastrointestinal motility stimulants. Medicines speed up the movement of food through the stomach and emptying, and have an antiemetic effect. Prescribed for the treatment of bloating, pain and discomfort, feelings of early satiety, anorexia, nausea, vomiting and heartburn.

If the question arises of how to replace Trimedat for an adult, then Ganaton is the drug of choice. Both medications reduce the symptoms of dyspeptic gastrointestinal disorders. Trimedat eliminates colic caused by poor digestion of food and impaired gastrointestinal motility. Ganaton fights belching, heartburn, nausea and vomiting. What is more effective is determined individually.

The procedure for dispensing drugs differs: Trimedat is sold freely; to purchase an analogue of Ganaton, a doctor’s prescription is required.

Trimedat or Meteospasmil

Meteospasmil is an analogue of Trimedat 200 mg in capsules, sold without a prescription. It combines the properties of two components - eliminates colic and bloating.

The medications Trimedat and Meteospasmil are similar in action and indications. Both are used for gastrointestinal disorders manifested by constipation, diarrhea, belching, increased gas and bloating, abdominal pain and nausea. The choice of remedy is individual and depends on the patient’s age, medications used, and diagnosis.

Trimedat: what kind of drug is it?

Trimedat is a drug prescribed to normalize the motor function of the gastrointestinal tract. The medicine can also have an antispasmodic effect.

Good efficiency plays an important role, but the big disadvantage of the drug is its high price.

Therefore, many patients are trying to find out what to replace Trimedat with. To the great happiness of patients, the list of analogues is quite diverse.

Anyone can find a suitable product at an affordable price. All that remains is to make the right choice and not harm the body. However, before you begin to study such drugs in detail, you should carefully study the instructions for Trimedat.

Pharmacological properties

The product stabilizes intestinal motility well and normalizes the functioning of internal organs.

The main active substance is Trimebutin, which penetrates the intestines and suppresses pain.

The drug does not have any negative effect on the stomach, which guarantees its natural emptying without failure. The active component is easily restored, establishing the functioning of the intestinal muscles.

Indications for use

Due to its pharmaceutical effect, the drug is used against the following ailments:

  • stomach ache;
  • colic;
  • abdominal cramps;
  • eliminating gag reflexes;
  • diarrhea;
  • constipation;
  • intestinal obstruction caused by surgery.

It is recommended to use the drug after consultation with a specialist.

Contraindications

High efficiency is a strong argument to give preference to this particular medication, but we must not forget about contraindications.

It cannot be used in the following situations:

  • children under 3 years of age;
  • intolerance to components;
  • pregnancy;
  • lactation period.

Experts allow pregnant women to use the drug, but only after the first trimester.

Side effects

A number of serious examinations have made it possible to prove that the medication has a minimum number of adverse reactions. The most popular of these is the occurrence of skin rashes. In all other cases, the drug did not cause any serious effects on the patient.

Treatment regimen

The treatment regimen is prescribed by the doctor after examining the patient. Usually therapy does not exceed one month.

There are cases when the medication is re-prescribed - everything is individual.

Price

Today, the cost of medicine makes us think seriously. One pack of Trimedat costs 502 rubles, and if you take into account a course of treatment lasting one month, you will have to spend a lot of money. Therefore, patients often try to find analogues of the active substance, but at a more affordable price.

Trimedat or Motilium

Motilium is a French analogue based on domperidone. Refers to antiemetics, available in regular and oral soluble tablets and suspensions. Generics - Domperidone, Passazhiks, Motilak.

Motilium fights nausea and vomiting and increases the rate of bowel movements. Trimedat has more indications and is safer. Can be used to reduce spastic pain, regulate stool frequency and consistency (for diarrhea and constipation).

Trimedat and Motilium have different mechanisms of action and active substances. The choice of remedy depends on the indications and the presence of contraindications.

Substitutes for therapeutic effects

Substitutes include those medications that have different active ingredients from Trimedat, but the same therapeutic direction and identical purposes. Such analogues are prescribed to those patients who are intolerant to trimebutine. The effectiveness of therapeutic analogs is as high as that of Trimedat.

Duspatalin

Duspatalin stops the penetration of calcium molecules into the smooth muscle fibers of the organs of the entire digestive system. Duspatalin reduces the calcium level in cell membranes, stops the interaction with protein compounds, which helps relax the muscle tissue of the smooth muscles of the organs.

Mechanism of action of Duspatalin

The main component relieves the tone of the sphincter of the biliary organ, which helps to enhance the process of processing food entering the stomach. The active ingredient in Duspatalin is mebeverine.

The drug is prescribed for:

  • abdominal pain and cramps;
  • disorders in the biliary tract;
  • cholecystitis and cholestasis;
  • IBS;
  • non-infectious colic origin.

An antispasmodic is not prescribed to patients for the following reasons:

  • allergy to a drug;
  • age up to 10 years;
  • pregnancy in the 1st trimester;
  • lactation period.

There is no information from clinical studies on the safety of using the drug during pregnancy. In this regard, in the 1st trimester, taking the medication is strictly prohibited, and in the 2nd-3rd trimester, taking the medication only for vital signs and under medical supervision. If there is a need to take Duspatalin during the lactation period, then you need to transfer the child to artificial nutrition.

Capsules do not need to be chewed or broken, because the integrity of the shell guarantees prolonged action.

Patients over 10 years of age should take 1 capsule of Duspatalin twice a day. The duration of therapy is set by the doctor personally in accordance with the pathology and the degree of its progression. Also, if necessary, the doctor can prescribe a personal treatment regimen and set other dosages.

Adverse reactions include the following symptoms:

  • allergies - rashes, urticaria, hyperemia and itching of the skin;
  • anaphylactic shock;
  • deviations in the gastrointestinal tract - constipation, diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, which can provoke vomiting, diarrhea and pain in the epigastric region;
  • body fatigue, headache, sleep disturbance, irritability and nervousness and dizziness.

Trimedat or Buscopan

Buscopan is an original drug, an analogue of Trimedat from the group of m-anticholinergic drugs. The medication reduces the secretion of the digestive glands and reduces spasm of smooth muscles.

Trimedat has a wider range of actions. Additionally, it normalizes the frequency and consistency of stool, and regulates intestinal function. For severe pain, the analogue is preferable.

Analogues of Trimedat forte

The drug Trimedat forte has appeared in the assortment of pharmacies and the question becomes reasonable: Which is better - Trimedat or Trimedat forte, what is the difference. The usual form is taken three times a day in a dosage appropriate to the patient's age. For the convenience of treating children over 12 years of age and adults, an enhanced formula has been created, which is taken twice a day, before or after meals.

The price in pharmacies of Trimedat regular and forte varies slightly. When converted to the exchange rate, the analogue is cheaper or costs the same.

As a substitute for the enhanced formula Trimedat FORTE, medications identical to the usual medicine are used.

Trimedat analogues and substitutes belong to different pharmacological groups and have excellent medicinal properties. The choice of drug depends on the person’s complaints and diagnosis, the purpose of treatment, and the presence of restrictions. Before purchasing, consult your doctor and read the package insert.

Sparex

The myotropic antispasmodic Sparex is an analogue of Trimedat with the active component in the form of mebeverine hydrochloride. The drug is available in capsules with 200 mg of active ingredient. Sparkex is a cheap domestic substitute not only for Trimedat, but also for Dutan and Mebeverine. The essence of the action is the relief of intestinal spasms without involvement in the process of correction of peristalsis. Appointed from age 12.

The drug should not be used while driving a car or operating precision equipment due to the risk of dizziness and drowsiness.

The dosage is individual: one capsule three to four times a day until the therapeutic effect occurs, then the dosage is reduced to maintenance (the dose is calculated by the doctor).

Adverse reactions when taking the drug: cephalalgia, vertigo, drowsiness, allergies, flatulence, dyspepsia, bronchospasm.
