Is it possible to use Ergoferon for children?
To combat viral infections and diseases, children are often prescribed Ergoferon. This is a homeopathic medicine that can be given to a child from 6 months. The drug fights inflammation and strengthens the immune system. Before taking, you should consult your doctor. There is no need to self-medicate.
It is important to strictly follow the instructions and not exceed the permissible dose, otherwise the child may experience adverse reactions or an overdose.
The drug should be given half an hour before meals or 30 minutes after. During the period of illness, the child’s daily routine may be disrupted, and if it is not possible to give the medicine at the specified time, then it can be given at any other period, but not during meals.
The child should not swallow the tablet. You need to put it under your tongue and suck it. If you give a solution or tablet diluted in water, you should also not swallow it immediately, but hold it in your mouth for at least 20 seconds.
Children under 3 years old can be given the drug only in the form of tablets, dissolving them in 1 tbsp. l. water.
pharmachologic effect
The therapeutic properties of the drug are characterized by stopping the activity of pathogens, reducing inflammation, pain and strengthening the immune status.
After taking Ergoferon the following is noted:
- Suppressing signs of intoxication - reducing swelling, temperature, runny nose and cough.
- Improving the structure of blood vessels.
- Increasing the body's resistance to viral pathologies.
- Decreased bronchial tone.
The active ingredients of the drug have a pharmacological effect at the cellular level, helping to activate metabolism and strengthen the immune system, which leads to rapid recovery.
Is Ergoferon safe for pregnant women?
The instructions for the drug in the “Contraindications” section do not say anything about pregnant women. But experts advise against taking Ergoferon in the 1st trimester. This is due to the fact that the fetus is not yet strong enough and is very vulnerable to any kind of influence. If the symptoms of the disease practically do not appear and there is no serious threat to the mother, then it is better to refrain from using the drug.
From the 2nd trimester it is possible to start treatment with Ergoferon, but under the constant supervision of a specialist. The doctor determines the appropriate treatment regimen and duration.
In the 3rd trimester, it is also possible to take the drug, but it is best to resort to it in a serious condition, when there is a threat to the life of the mother or the unborn baby.
If any allergic reactions occur, you should immediately stop taking it.
Indications for use of Ergoferon
The antiviral agent has a wide range of pharmacological effects. Prescribed for the treatment of the following conditions:
- Whooping cough.
- Influenza, parainfluenza, caused by A and B viruses.
- Fever with hemorrhagic course.
- Pneumonia of any form and etiology, including atypical.
- Inflammatory lesions of the brain (meningitis, encephalitis).
- Tonsillitis, bronchitis.
- Chicken pox.
In addition, Ergoferon is used as part of the complex treatment of intestinal infections against the background of rotoviruses, enteroviruses, adenoviruses and other pathogens. It is also widely used for the prevention of influenza and ARVI.
Ergoferon
The spectrum of pharmacological activity of Ergoferon includes antiviral, immunomodulatory, antihistamine, and anti-inflammatory.
The effectiveness of the use of Ergoferon components in viral infectious diseases has been experimentally and clinically proven: influenza A and influenza B, acute respiratory viral infections (caused by parainfluenza viruses, adenoviruses, respiratory syncytial viruses, coronaviruses), herpes viral infections (labial herpes, ophthalmic herpes, genital herpes, shingles herpes, chicken pox, infectious mononucleosis), acute intestinal infections of viral etiology (caused by caliciviruses, coronaviruses, rotaviruses, enteroviruses), enteroviral and meningococcal meningitis, hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, tick-borne encephalitis.
The drug is used in the complex treatment of bacterial infections (pseudotuberculosis, whooping cough, yersiniosis, pneumonia of various etiologies, including atypical pathogens (M.pneumoniae, C.Pneumoniae, Legionella spp.), is used to prevent bacterial complications of viral infections, prevents the development of superinfections. Use of the drug in pre- and post-vaccination period increases the effectiveness of vaccination, provides non-specific prevention of ARVI and influenza at the time of formation of post-vaccination immunity. Ergoferon has preventive effectiveness against ARVI of non-influenza etiology, prevents the development of intercurrent diseases in the post-vaccination period. The components included in the drug have a single mechanism of action in in the form of an increase in the functional activity of the CD4 receptor, receptors for interferon gamma (IFN-γ) and histamine, respectively, which is accompanied by a pronounced immunotropic effect.
It has been experimentally proven that antibodies to interferon gamma:
increase the expression of IFN-γ, IFN α/β, as well as interleukins associated with them (IL-2, IL-4, IL-10, etc.), improve the ligand-receptor interaction of IFN, restore cytokine status; normalize the concentration and functional activity of natural antibodies to IFN-γ, which are an important factor in the body’s natural antiviral tolerance; stimulate interferon-dependent biological processes: induction of expression of major histocompatibility complex antigens of types I, II and Fc receptors, activation of monocytes, stimulation of the functional activity of NK cells, regulation of immunoglobulin synthesis, activating a mixed Th1 and Th2 immune response.
Antibodies to CD4, probably being allosteric modulators of this receptor, regulate the functional activity of the CD4 receptor, which leads to an increase in the functional activity of CD4 lymphocytes, normalization of the CD4/CD8 immunoregulatory index, as well as the subpopulation composition of immunocompetent cells (CD3, CD4, CD8, CD16, CD20).
Antibodies to histamine modify histamine-dependent activation of peripheral and central H1 receptors and thus reduce the tone of bronchial smooth muscles, reduce capillary permeability, which leads to a reduction in the duration and severity of rhinorrhea, swelling of the nasal mucosa, coughing and sneezing, as well as a decrease in the severity of associated the infectious process of allergic reactions by suppressing the release of histamine from mast cells and basophils, the production of leukotrienes, the synthesis of adhesion molecules, reducing the chemotaxis of eosinophils and platelet aggregation in reactions to contact with an allergen.
The combined use of the components of a complex drug is accompanied by an increase in the antiviral activity of its components.

Composition of Ergoferon tablets
The tablets have three active components: antibodies to interferon gamma, histamine and CD4. Magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and lactose monohydrate are used as auxiliary components.
Histamine is a compound produced in the body during an inflammatory response caused by foreign substances or injury.
Interferons are proteins that are also produced in the body during infection. There are several types of them. Interferons were accidentally discovered in the middle of the last century. During experiments, scientists noticed that laboratory mice that were infected with one virus could not become infected with another immediately after the disease. The results obtained during the experiments allowed scientists to find answers to many questions about the functioning of the immune system. It turned out that when a viral infection enters the body, the production of interferon is activated, which performs a signaling function. Its main task is to mobilize the body’s defenses and inform cells that they are in danger in the form of infection.
Interferon gamma is produced by T helper cells, which are a type of lymphocyte. By releasing interferon gamma, T-helper cells thereby give a signal to other cells of the immune system called T-killer cells. Their task is to destroy cells infected with the infection, which prevents its spread in the body.
CD4 are special receptors that T helper cells and some other immune cells have. CD4 are protein compounds that are partially embedded in the cell membrane. These receptors help immune cells contact infection when it is detected.
When ingested, Ergoferon components increase the functional activity of the CD4 receptor, receptors for interferon gamma and histamine. This provides an immunotropic effect - stimulating the immune system by affecting its cells. Taking Ergoferon is aimed at increasing the production of cytokines, normalizing the natural level of antibodies to interferon, and reducing the production of histamine by mast cells.

The child has a sore throat - please advise something.
In addition to the drug for a sore throat, I recommend that you take an antiviral drug - Ergoferon or Anaferon for children. What age is the baby? For a child over 6 months old, I can recommend Ergoferon, which has additional effects and helps relieve ARVI symptoms such as sore throat, runny nose and nasal congestion. And for babies from 1 month there is “Anaferon for children” in a convenient drop form.
THERE ARE CONTRAINDICATIONS.
BEFORE USE, CONSULT A PROFESSIONAL.
Ergoferon dosages
The treatment regimen involves taking tablets at intervals. Their number on the first day of treatment is eight. The first five tablets should be taken two hours apart, about 30 minutes apart. The remaining three tablets are taken on the same day at equal intervals.
Starting from the second day, the drug is taken one tablet three times a day. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease and the severity of its symptoms. The remedy can be taken until complete recovery. Ergoferon is used as an independent medicine and as part of complex therapy. The drug is compatible with other medications to combat viral infections and eliminate cold and flu symptoms. There are no cases of undesirable effects when combining Ergoferon with other drugs.
