Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics.
The main active component of the drug is eucalyptus oil containing at least 80% of the antispasmodic active 1,8-cineole. its effect is combined with the effect of pine oil, which contains 30–40% alpha-pinenes, which improve blood circulation. the pharmacological effect of these essential oils leads to the dilution and dissolution of bronchial secretions, increased excretion by the ciliated epithelium, weakening of catarrhal manifestations in the respiratory tract, and anti-inflammatory effect. Due to their lipophilic properties, the active substances are well distributed over the skin and absorbed. after absorption, they are partially excreted through the lungs, which means they enter through the blood circulation directly to the site of action. Thus, the preliminary effect that occurs during inhalation is enhanced by bathing and, in the case of bed rest, is complemented by the positive effect of a warm bath, which, in combination with the active substances, causes sweating. Pharmacokinetics. Not studied.
