Pharmacodynamics
Polysorb® MP (medical oral) is an inorganic, non-selective, multifunctional enterosorbent based on highly dispersed silica with particle sizes up to 0.09 mm, with the chemical formula SiO2. The sorption capacity of the drug for internal use is 300 m2/g.
Polysorb® MP has pronounced sorption and detoxification properties. In the lumen of the gastrointestinal tract, the drug binds and removes from the body endogenous and exogenous toxic substances of various natures, pathogenic bacteria and bacterial toxins, antigens, food allergens, drugs and poisons, heavy metal salts, radionuclides, alcohol.
Polysorb® MP also sorbs some metabolic products of the body, incl. excess bilirubin, urea, cholesterol and lipid complexes, as well as metabolites responsible for the development of endogenous toxicosis.

For severe diarrheal syndrome on the first day, a single dose is 4-6 g, the average daily dose is 12 g. The course of treatment is 3-5 days. For the treatment of acute oral poisoning with drugs, ethyl alcohol and other potent and toxic substances, depending on the severity of the condition, a single dose is determined at the rate of 100-150 mg/kg body weight (on average 7-10 g) in 2-3 doses. In severe forms of poisoning, Polysorb-MP is administered through a tube into the stomach after washing it every 4-6 hours during the entire toxicogenic phase of poisoning. The maximum daily dose in these cases is 24 g. For alcohol withdrawal syndrome, a single dose is 2-4 g 3-4 times a day for 3-4 days. For food and drug allergies - 2-3 g 2-3 times a day 1 hour before meals or 1.5-2 hours after meals and medications. The course of treatment is 10-15 days.
