Adenoiditis is a fairly common disease in children aged two years and older. This is due to the imperfect functioning of the immune system (it has not yet learned to repel all harmful viruses and bacteria), and as a result, frequent acute respiratory diseases. Sooner or later, many parents of sick children are forced by doctors to choose what type of treatment to use: conservative (homeopathy, physiotherapy) or surgical. It is clear that the latter is associated with many risks, so most are inclined to the first method. One of the most frequently prescribed drugs is Job-Baby. It has an anti-inflammatory effect. The set of ingredients is simple. But some questions still arise. What is the medicine? At what age is admission possible? Are there any contraindications?

Doctors' opinions on homeopathy for adenoids
Treatment with homeopathic remedies as an alternative to traditional therapy has recently become increasingly popular. Many parents choose this method, as it combines many advantages:
- natural composition of drugs;
- homeopathic remedies are not addictive;
- the ability to use medications as an addition to the main treatment to maintain the body;
- gentle effect on the body;
- wide range of drug uses;
- the likelihood of allergic reactions is minimized;
- many remedies can be used from infancy.
However, doctors assess the effectiveness of this treatment differently.
A leading specialist in Moscow, homeopathic doctor Andrei Anatolyevich Voronkov says the following:
In my entire 30-year practice of treating adenoids, I cannot remember at least one child who would not have benefited from correct (!) homeopathic treatment.
Usually, parents go through a difficult path in search of a cure - from air humidification, breathing exercises to powerful antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, immunostimulating, vasoconstrictor, antihistamine, vitamin, ... drugs. And all this “abundance” falls on the liver and kidneys of a still very small – fragile man.
<…> I will offer you only one truly effective method of treating adenoids - homeopathic! After all, it is he who so powerfully mobilizes the child’s “weakened” defenses that in addition to the resorption of the adenoids, other “itises” that always accompany adenoids are completely cured - laryngitis, rhinitis, tonsillitis, otitis...
But here is an otolaryngologist who has been developing and implementing new methods for treating diseases of the ear, nose and throat for 8 years at the Research Center of the Moscow Medical Academy named after. THEM. Sechenov, Ivan Vasilievich Leskov has the opposite point of view:
...most often doctors, especially outpatient doctors, prescribe a drug called “Job the Baby”. But the effectiveness of this drug is very low - less than 5%. Why? Because “Job-Baby” is a choleretic drug, but the adenoids disappear against the background of its other effect (side effect) - this is the acceleration of lymph outflow.
Doctors, when prescribing Job-Baby, hope for just this side effect. That is, the outflow of lymph accelerates, swelling decreases, and the adenoids themselves decrease.
But! If the adenoids are really inflamed, there is bacterial inflammation, pus or mucus, the outflow of lymph will not accelerate, and the swelling will not decrease. But due to the fact that it is a choleretic drug, extremely unpleasant effects from the gastrointestinal tract can occur. And starting from the exacerbation of problems, which are very common, such as biliary dyskinesia, and ending with such bad complications as vomiting.
That is why I strongly advise, before parents agree to use this drug, to insist on a direct examination with a speculum or endoscope, and demand a report from the doctor about what he saw. That is, did he see swelling, pus and mucus on the surface of the adenoids. And if there was purulent mucus, then we must insist not only on the use of “Job-Baby”, but also on rinsing the nasopharynx and, possibly, physical therapy.
At the same time, Ivan Vasilyevich estimates the chances of recovery from complex homeopathy drugs, which are developed specifically for the upper respiratory tract (“Lymphomyosot”, “Euphorbium compositum”) to be higher (a positive effect, in his opinion, occurs in 10–15% of cases) than from therapy with the “Job-Baby” remedy.
special instructions
While taking the drug, a short-term exacerbation of existing or previously noted symptoms may occur. In such a condition, it is necessary to interrupt the use of the drug for 5–7 days and seek advice from a specialist.
Patients with diabetes should take into account that 1 granule contains approximately 0.002 XE (bread units).
The drug does not have a negative effect on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms.
Contraindications and side effects
In the instructions for the drug Job-Baby, the manufacturer indicates a number of contraindications, as well as side effects:
- Diseases of the thyroid gland: congenital anomalies, decreased or increased function of the thyroid gland, inflammatory diseases (the composition contains iodine, so taking the drug is possible only after consultation with an endocrinologist).
- Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.
- Sinusitis, inflammation of the maxillary sinus (occurs as a result of infection or harmful bacteria and requires appropriate treatment; adenoiditis is only a factor predisposing to the onset of the disease).
- Acute sinusitis is a bacterial infection of the mucous membrane of the paranasal sinuses. Antibacterial rather than anti-inflammatory agents should be used.
Accidental overdose is harmless.
Interesting! Homeopathic remedies, due to the large number of dilutions, are mainly neutral water, ethanol (alcohol), and sugar. Therefore, it is very difficult to talk about a possible overdose. Often scientists and doctors compare their effectiveness with the effect of a placebo, based on self-hypnosis and faith in the result.
Can it be combined with other drugs for the treatment of adenoids?
Job-Baby is very rarely used as the only drug for the treatment of adenoids. Most often it is part of complex treatment. Along with it they are prescribed:
- taking vitamins to stimulate the immune system;
- means for rinsing the sinuses: salt water, Aquamaris, Aqualor, Dolphin, Physiomer, Elfasept;
- anti-inflammatory and antiallergic drugs: Nasonex, Erius;
- vasoconstrictor drops: Nazivin;
- traditional medicine, for example, based on thuja oil, calendula tincture, aloe or beet juice, propolis;
- agents that enhance the outflow of exudate (fluid that accumulates in tissues during inflammation) and reduce swelling of the mucous membrane: Sinupret.
- physiotherapy: laser therapy, ultraviolet irradiation, FUF therapy (short-wave ultraviolet radiation).

Since the drug Job-Baby is mainly used as one of the means of complex treatment, as a rule, its withdrawal does not have serious consequences and does not reduce the effect of other drugs. But if there are any individual preferences, then it can be replaced by other means:

Reviews from parents
Tatyana shared her experience:
We took Job-Baby for 6 months as prescribed. There was no result. 3 times during this time I suffered from otitis due to adenoids. Two months later it suddenly got better. He sniffles, but at night he breathes through his nose.
