Phosphogliv refers to hepatoprotective medications with a combined composition. It has antioxidant, antiviral, immunostimulating and antiviral properties.

The main substances are several components: phospholipids and sodium glycyrrhizinate. The components of the medication help restore the functions and structure of the liver, normalize lipid and protein metabolism in cells. Sodium glycyrrhinizate has an inhibitory effect on viruses and stimulates the production of interferons.

Main indications for prescribing the drug:

  • liver hepatosis;
  • acute and chronic forms of hepatitis, provoked by the activity of viruses;
  • intoxication with alcohol or medications;
  • cirrhosis of the liver;
  • skin diseases (eczema, psoriasis, neurodermatitis).

Composition of the drug

It is not recommended to take Phosphogliv under the following conditions:

  • intolerance to its components;
  • antiphospholipid syndrome;
  • during lactation/pregnancy.

The medicine is prescribed to children from the age of 12. With maximum caution and under the supervision of the attending physician, it is allowed to prescribe drugs to patients with portal hypertension and arterial hypertension.

The method of application depends on the form of release. Capsules are taken 3-4 times a day, 1-2 pieces with meals. For an injection, you need to mix 10 ml of water for injection with the contents of one bottle. Intravenous administration is carried out twice a day.

Phosphogliv is an expensive drug, despite the fact that it is produced in Russia. Today, a large number of drugs are produced that have an identical effect. The price of cheap analogues is significantly lower than the original.

pharmachologic effect

Manufacturer: Pharmstandard-Leksredstva OJSC, Russia
Release form: lyophilisate for the preparation of solution for injection, solution for intravenous administration, capsules

Active ingredient: phospholipids (phosphatidylcholine), sodium glycyrrhizinate

Synonyms: Phosphogliv forte, PhospholyPlus

Phosphogliv is a hepatoprotective drug based on phosphatidylcholine and sodium glycyrrhizinate. Both components complement each other's effects.

Phospholipids help restore and protect hepatocyte membranes, improve their properties and functions. This active substance prevents the formation of connective tissue in the liver, which prevents the development of cirrhosis and fibrotic changes. Glycyrrhizinate has a powerful anti-inflammatory and antiviral effect on liver cells and is a strong antioxidant.

Instructions for use of Phosphogliv

Phosphogliv capsules should be taken orally with food. The drug is swallowed whole without preliminary crushing or opening. Patients over 12 years of age should take 2 capsules 3 times a day. The duration of treatment is 3 months. The doctor may extend the use of the drug for up to 6 months.

When using phosphogliv in the form of a lyophilisate, the contents of the bottle should first be dissolved in 10 ml of sterile water for injection. The drug is administered intravenously slowly 2 times a day in the morning and evening.

The drug and its full analogues are very well tolerated. Side effects are rarely reported. Allergic reactions, hypertension, and dyspeptic disorders rarely develop.

According to the instructions for use, the product is used for lactation and pregnancy, in children under 12 years of age, as well as for allergies to the components of Phosphogliv and for antiphospholipid syndrome. Caution is required when using the drug in patients with hypertension.

Cheaper analogues of the drug Phosphogliv produced in Russia

Pharmacies offer a wide range of drugs that are produced in Russia. They can be used to replace Phosphogliv. Before purchasing an analogue, you should consult a specialist.

This medicine does not have complete structural analogues, so it is not recommended to select medications on your own. The most popular domestically produced drugs that have a high degree of effectiveness include:

  • Hepaphor;
  • Phosphonciale;
  • Potassium orotate;
  • Silimar;
  • Hepatosan.

Drugs may differ in dosage form, composition and price, but they have a similar mechanism of action.

Silimar

A hepatoprotective drug based on raw materials of plant origin – dry extract of milk thistle. The tablets exhibit a slight antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory effect.

Penetrating into the body, the drug promotes the activation of the synthesis of proteins and enzymes in hepatocytes and inhibits the effect of toxins in the liver. As a result, the rate of degenerative processes in the organ slows down, and its regeneration occurs.

Recommendations for prescribing the drug:

  • cirrhosis of the liver;
  • chronic hepatitis;
  • recovery period after hepatitis;
  • poisoning with drugs or ethanol;
  • toxic liver damage.

In general, the medication is well tolerated by patients. The only contraindication is hypersensitivity to the components. Children should be prescribed the drug from 12 years of age. There is no information regarding the safety of drugs during treatment during lactation or pregnancy. In this regard, many doctors refrain from prescribing tablets in such cases.

Despite the fact that the medicine is based on a herbal component, it can have a negative effect on the body. The most common side effects include allergic reactions in the form of skin rashes that are accompanied by itching. A laxative effect is extremely rare.

Description of the drug

The tablets are intended to be taken orally 20-30 minutes before meals. Single dose – 1-2 tablets. Up to three doses are allowed per day. In the presence of chronic forms of the disease, you can undergo a second therapeutic course after 2-3 months.

Selimar has an effect similar to the original medication. However, they differ in active ingredients and dosage form.

Hepaphor

The medicine belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of hepatoprotective drugs. Its mechanism of action is due to dry extract of milk thistle, lactobacilli and bifidobacteria. Has a hepatoprotective effect. Its components take an active part in the metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates, contribute to the production of essential vitamins, amino acids and fatty acids, which improve the structure and functionality of the liver.

The combined medication is prescribed for:

  • toxic lesions and liver cirrhosis (LC);
  • chronic and acute hepatitis;
  • viral hepatitis.

The list of contraindications includes hypersensitivity to the components and childhood. Pregnant and nursing mothers are prescribed in case of emergency.

The drug does not have a high degree of safety, so side effects appear only if its components are intolerant. Very rarely, patients experience an allergic skin rash.

The dosage is selected by the attending physician depending on the characteristics of the pathology. The standard instructions indicate that the capsules are taken with meals three times a day. A single dose depends on the diagnosis:

  • for toxic lesions, dysbacteriosis, cirrhosis, hepatitis, 2 capsules are prescribed;
  • for the treatment of acute viral hepatitis (AVH) – 1 capsule.

For preventive purposes, take 1-2 capsules three times a day for 15-30 days.

The original and its substitute have identical properties and are prescribed for the same conditions. They differ in the form of release and active components.

Hepatosan

The Russian-made hepatoprotector is based on freeze-dried liver cells from a donor pig. Capsules are characterized by detoxifying and hepatoprotective properties. The principle of influence is carried out in 2 phases at once:

  • metabolic (liver activity is restored);
  • intestinal (toxic substances are absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract).

It is recommended to take the drug to patients with:

  • hepatitis and cirrhosis;
  • liver failure;
  • hepatosis;
  • poisoning;
  • abnormalities in the functioning of the digestive system.

Instructions

The medication is not prescribed if there is hypersensitivity to the components and in childhood (under 18 years). To date, there is no information about the occurrence of side effects during the course of treatment.

Capsules should be drunk before taking food and washed down with plenty of clean water. In the instructions from the manufacturer, the recommended one-time amount of drugs is 2 capsules/3 times.

The components of the substitute are well tolerated by patients and do not lead to the development of complications. The original differs in composition and release form, since the analogue is available only in capsule form.

Potassium orotate

Tablets represent a group of metabolic medications. They contain orotic acid. It is a non-steroidal anabolic drug that stimulates nucleic acid synthesis and improves appetite. Potassium orotate has regenerating and diuretic characteristics.

The medication improves the tolerance of cardiac glycosides and metabolic processes. It can act as an independent drug or be part of polytherapy.

Tablets are prescribed to eliminate symptoms:

  • pathologies of the liver and biliary tract (except for cirrhosis, which is accompanied by ascites);
  • heart rhythm disturbances;
  • chronic heart failure;
  • progressive muscular dystrophy;
  • anemia;
  • malnutrition;
  • dystrophy.

Factors that do not allow the use of this remedy include increased sensitivity to the components. Negative reactions occur quite rarely and represent an allergic rash. They go away quickly after stopping the medication.

Particular attention should be paid to the dosage regimen of the drug. Tablets are taken 4 hours after meals or 40-60 minutes before meals. Adult dose – 250-500 mg/2-3 times a day. If necessary, the amount can be increased on the recommendation of a doctor.

In childhood, 10-20 mg per 1 kg of body weight is prescribed. The resulting amount must be divided into three equal doses.

Potassium orotate differs from Phosphogliv in its active ingredients. Moreover, both drugs have a positive effect on metabolic processes in the body.

Fosphonziale

The drug from the hepatoprotector drug group also has a combined composition. Its mechanism of action is due to silymar and lipoid. The medication helps normalize liver function. Its components fill cell membranes with phospholipids and prevent further destruction of already affected areas. Protect the organ from the penetration of toxic substances.

The medication exhibits a high degree of effectiveness in treating:

  • fatty liver degeneration;
  • alcoholic hepatitis;
  • CP and gestosis;
  • psoriasis;
  • toxic hepatitis.

Properties of Fosfontiale

It is also used for liver disorders resulting from various pathologies of internal organs. If you are hypersensitive or allergic to any of the components, it is better not to take this drug.

Among the most common adverse reactions are:

  • nausea;
  • allergic rash;
  • pain in the stomach area.

The instructions indicate that the capsules should be swallowed whole and washed down with plenty of water. For hepatitis and cirrhosis, take 2 capsules two to three times. For signs of psoriasis - one three times every 24 hours. In order to prevent the development of complications, you can take one capsule twice a day.

Phosphonciale is an affordable and high-quality alternative to the original medicine. However, it must be taken with caution as it may cause negative effects. The main product has a greater degree of safety.

Active ingredient: phospholipids (phosphatidylcholine), sodium glycyrrhizinate

Synonyms: Phosphogliv

Phosphogliv forte is a complete analogue of Phosphogliv in terms of active ingredients. The product contains large dosages of phosphatidylcholine and sodium glycyrrhizinate, which makes the drug more effective when using fewer capsules per day.

Patients over 12 years of age should take 1 capsule of this analogue 3 times a day. This Phosphogliv substitute is not used to treat pregnant and lactating women due to the lack of research on the safety of the drug.

Inexpensive foreign substitutes for Phosphogliv

Among foreign-made drugs there are also inexpensive substitutes for Phosphogliv. Since patients are presented with a large selection of medications, experts recommend paying attention only to proven drugs.

These include:

  • Rezalut;

Take the tablets orally half an hour before meals. The standard dose is 1-2 tablets/3 times a day. The duration of treatment is 25-30 days. If necessary, the course of therapy is repeated every 2-3 months.

Silymar is contraindicated for persons with hypersensitivity to its active components. During pregnancy and lactation, it is highly not recommended to use tablets. Children under 12 years of age should not take the hepatoprotector.

Side effects:

  • Allergic reactions.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Pain and colic in the abdomen.

Reviews about Silimar are positive. Patients note that the drug normalizes liver functionality and relieves unpleasant symptoms of hepatobiliary pathologies.

Phosphogliv or Heptral

Manufacturer: Abbott Lab.
GmbH, Germany Release form: lyophilisate for the preparation of solution for injection, film-coated tablets

Active ingredient: ademetionine

Synonyms: Ademethionine, Heparetta, Heptor, Samelix

Heptral is an analogue of Phosphogliv in tablets and injection solutions based on the amino acid ademetionine. The difference between drugs is in the composition, manufacturers, and regimens of use. The mechanism of action of this analogue is different, since the natural amino acid is a precursor to many enzymes and an accelerator of the most important metabolic processes in the liver and the body as a whole. The product more effectively eliminates bile stagnation in the liver due to direct participation in the methionine metabolic cycle in the liver, replenishing the lack of important methionine in liver tissue.

The product can be used to treat patients over 18 years of age. It is possible to treat pregnant and lactating women with this analogue if the benefits of the drug outweigh the possible risks.

Phosphogliv or Phosphogliv Urso

Manufacturer: Pharmstandard-Leksredstva OJSC, Russia
Release form: capsules

Active ingredient: ursodeoxycholic acid, sodium glycyrrhizinate

Synonyms: Ursosan, Ursofalk, Choludexan, Ursohol, Ursorom S

Phosphogliv Urso is a product based on another active substance - ursodeoxycholic acid. The effects of this analogue are complemented by sodium glycyrrhizinate, which has anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects. In addition to pronounced hepatoprotective activity, as well as the effect on lipid metabolism in the liver, strengthening the immune response to viruses, Phosphogliv Urso is characterized by a choleretic effect. The drug has the ability to dissolve stones in the biliary tract, which expands the scope of its application.

Phosphogliv or Ursosan

Manufacturer: Pro.Med.CS Praha, Czech Republic
Release form: capsules

Active ingredient: ursodeoxycholic acid

Synonyms: Ursofalk, Choludexan, Ursohol, Ursorom S

Ursosan is a choleretic drug with pronounced hepatoprotective properties. The product effectively reduces the synthesis and level of cholesterol, stabilizes hepatocyte membranes, protecting cells from the negative effects of toxic substances (medicines, toxins, ethanol, narcotics).

This analogue of Phosphogliv activates the necessary enzymes that help accelerate the removal of toxic bile acids from the liver, eliminates intrahepatic stagnation of bile, and also normalizes the processes of its absorption in the intestine. This explains the difference in effectiveness and indications for the use of Ursosan and Phosphogliv. This Phosphogliv substitute is used not only for the treatment of toxic liver damage, hepatitis therapy, but also for cholelithiasis, cholestasis, and changes in the lumen of the biliary tract. Despite the fact that the product is approved for use in patients of any age, Ursosan should be used with extreme caution in children under 3 years of age. In many cases, such an analogue is more effective than choleretic drugs (Allohol, Artichol, Chophytol, etc.) due to a different mechanism of action.

LIV-52

Phosphogliv can be replaced with complex naturopathic drugs. The medicine under the trade name LIV-52 (made in India) has proven itself to be excellent. It is available in tablet form. This Phosphogliv analogue is cheap - the price is only 320 rubles. Release form: tablets.

The dietary supplement contains exclusively naturopathic components. Thus, the active ingredients of the capsules are powder from prickly capers, common chicory, black nightshade, arjuna terminalia, western cassia, common yarrow, Gali tamarix. The tablets also contain iron oxide.

The active ingredients have choleretic, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and antioxidant effects. When consumed, digestion, passage and bile synthesis, and the production of liver enzymes are normalized. Lipid and carbohydrate metabolism also returns to normal. LIV-52 prevents fibrotic and necrotic changes, activates cellular metabolism, and improves immunity.

The dietary supplement will be very useful for high cholesterol levels. Also, the hepatoprotector is often prescribed to alcoholics, since the active components of the medication lower the level of ethyl alcohol in the urine and blood, and also increase the activity of acetaldehyde dehydrogenase. LIV-52 prevents stagnation of bile and the formation of stones in the gallbladder.

Indications for use of the drug are:

  1. Alcoholic hepatitis.
  2. Chronic drug-induced, viral or infectious hepatitis.
  3. Cirrhosis of the liver.
  4. Anorexia.
  5. Atherosclerosis.
  6. Intoxication.

It is allowed to take dietary supplements to prevent toxic changes in the liver during long-term use of anti-tuberculosis drugs, antibiotics, cytostatics, anabolic steroids, and antipyretic medications.

The instructions say that you need to take 2-3 tablets 1-3 times a day, depending on the severity of the specific disease and the age of the patient. The duration of treatment is selected individually, but on average the course lasts 1 month.

Contraindications to the use of LIV-52 are pregnancy, lactation period, childhood (up to 6 years), as well as hypersensitivity to the active or auxiliary components of the tablets.

Side effects:

  • Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting.
  • Allergic/anaphylactic reactions.
